Pear season is nearly here 🍐

The pear trees are starting to look heavy and all signs point to them being ready in a couple of weeks.

As always, we’re letting nature set the pace - but it’s shaping up to be a good one!
Keep an eye on the page so you don’t miss them when they’re ready to wander off the tree and into the stall.

Feeling guttered.

For 2 days straight a bunch of stuff was stolen from the farmstall. Eggs, lemons, grapefruit, cucumber and beans.

The prices are well below retail.
They are better quality than retail - as are sprayfree.
We work hard to dig, plant, prune, w**d, water, nuture and harvest - all the proceeds go back into chook food and the farm.

The camera has you on video. The stall is on private property which means we can press charges if we so chose.

Please return and pay for what you took - if we have to move to a preorder or manned hours model we would then have no choice but to increase prices - which is not what we want to do. :(

What a mammoth weekend at Fernwood!

Fruit trees pruned, garden beds prepped, winter crops planned and new seedlings planted. Busy hands, happy garden - it was all go in Whangas! Shout out to Mother nature for a mixed bag weather that made it mostly bearable!

Thanks to all that supported during the summer season - don't panic though! Grapefruit, Lemons, Beans, Herbs, Winter seedlings still available - and Tomatoes, Cucumber, limes, Pears coming on!

Currently in the stall - Lemons o'plenty, Grapefruit o'plenty, Eggs, Cucumber | Seedlings - Kale, Brocolli and Cauliflower.

Considering popping some herbs in the mix as well - look out for Kafir lime leaves, Spearmint, Peppermint, Rosemary

Today’s special little appearance 🍓
1 x single white strawberry seedling - discovered hiding in a larger pot!

White strawberries (White Alpine) are quite rare. They’re smaller than commercial red strawberries but wonderfully sweet and completely non-GMO.

Their pale colour fools the birds too 😉 .... so they often get to ripen undisturbed.

More seedlings are coming soon, with tendrils currently being rooted - fresh, farm-grown goodness on the way 🌱

Farm stall update 🌱

Plums are winding down now - we’ll still put out small amounts while they last.

Its all things - Green!!! Green beans are starting to come through, a few limes are finally showing up and there’s still grapefruit and lemons about.

We’ve got apples suitable for preserving and cider (lost the battle with the codling moth on those ones 🐛).

Feijoas are around 3 weeks away, lettuces should be out in the next couple of days and the chooks seem to have sorted themselves out and are laying again 🥚

Kale, cauliflower and broccoli seedlings available.

There’s always something ticking over out here - it changes week to week. Always worth a look as you head past!

For one day only (Saturday) BLACK DORIS PLUMS. I've rescued them all from the possums....and stripped the tree!!

Don't panic though - Red Sultan plums are atill available.... for now!!!

These gorgeous Sultan Plums are coming thick and fast!!!
Predicting a full basket everyday - get in fast before they are all gone!

• Plums (Red Sultan) – $2.00 for 20 plums (works out approx. $2.40/kg)
• Eggs – $4.00 per ½ dozen
• Lemons – 50c each
• Green Beans $0.50c per bag.
• Small Tomatoes $1.00 (bag of 6)
• Tomato seedlings – $3.00 each
• Books – $2.00 each
