Huge congratulations to Connor on completing his E-TEC Level 3 Security Installation Course 👏🔐

This achievement definitely didn’t happen overnight. There may have been a few reminders, a bit of nagging, and the occasional “have you finished that assignment yet?” along the way 😅 but Connor stuck with it and got the job done.

From learning on site, getting hands on with installs, and taking every opportunity to build his skills, it’s been awesome watching the progress and confidence grow throughout the course.

We’ve added a few photos from Connor’s journey along the way, including one memorable moment where he attempted something slightly above his skill set and managed to smoke out the office in the process 🤦‍♂️😂 Safe to say that lesson was learned very quickly.

A massive thank you as well to the ARC team members who helped support Connor with the in house training, guidance, and day to day knowledge sharing that helped him succeed. Having a team willing to teach, mentor, and back each other makes all the difference.

Well done Connor. Awesome effort and a well deserved achievement 🎉👏

Great to host a Gallagher Advanced Administrator Training day at our premises, delivered in conjunction with Gallagher Security for some of our valued clients operating larger Gallagher access control sites.

Facilitated by Gallagher trainer Eugene, the session gave end users an advanced understanding of Command Centre functionality and how to continue strengthening and evolving their site security over time.

Topics covered included configuration client, competencies, bulk changes, alarm instructions and insertion tags, notifications, site plans, card states and design, and the Enterprise Data Interface (EDI).

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed throughout the day. We’re proud to be able to offer training opportunities like this to support our clients in getting the very best from their Gallagher systems while building confidence in managing complex security environments.

Day 2 at ISC West wrapped up.

Some seriously cool tech on display today. Autonomous drones doing perimeter patrols, advanced fencing systems, and a lot happening in the background with smart integrations.

Good news though… robots aren’t taking over just yet. They still need bigger batteries 😄

Also caught up with Ajax Systems, NX Witness, and Gallagher. Some exciting things coming.

Can’t wait to bring this back home.

Day 1 at ISC West and it’s exactly what you’d expect. Non-stop walking, scanning every stand, and searching for what’s next in security tech.

One thing is clear. AI is no longer emerging; it’s here and it’s transforming the industry fast. The biggest impact is in CCTV, but we’re also seeing it expand into other areas in really practical ways.

I’ve already come across several solutions that I know our customers will be genuinely interested in. Real applications, not just concepts.

If you’re curious about what’s coming next or want to stay ahead, get in touch when I’m back and we’ll talk through what’s worth your attention.

Day 2 will be all about taking a deeper dive into the tech and separating the hype from what actually delivers value.

Police are seeing a spike of burglary reports across the Whangārei community in recent weeks.
While we’re investigating this offending, it’s a good time to make yourself aware of the issue and remain vigilant.

There are some easy steps to make your home less attractive to would-be burglars, and a harder target at the same time.

• Make sure your doors and windows are locked.

• Put away any valuables from easy reach.

• Leaving your garage door open? You’re leaving out the welcome mat for opportunistic offenders! This includes garden sheds too.

• Sensor lights can spook a burglary and act as a deterrent.

• Consider a house alarm or CCTV system.

• Remove hiding places on your property; keep hedges trimmed and repair broken fences.

Do you know your neighbours? Maybe it’s a good time to make new connections to help each other out.

Contact Police if:

• You see suspicious activity at a property, or a vehicle that shouldn’t be there.

• If you see suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighbourhood.

The key is – if you’re concerned about something, let Police know.

We ask the community to continue reporting any burglaries to us so that we can look at all avenues of investigation.

Report any offending as it happens by calling 111, you can also report an offence after the fact by calling 105 or going online to the Police website.
