In this episode of Attitude, it highlights the story of Tararua Native Plants owner Pip Cook and her family's journey with disabilities.

This journey has led to them opening "Little Stars", a child and adolescent rehabilitation centre located in Palmerston North .

It also shows how our little nursery is supporting rangatahi facing various challenges, to develop life skills, set meaningful and achievable goals and embrace nature.

Pip & Jules Cook selflessly raised disabled foster child Ryan, as well as their four kids. Now the Cooks have helped establish a centre to give children with disabilities developmental therapy.

It's that time of year, the plants are almost ready to go!

We are taking pre-season orders for riparian planting now.

Our plants at Tararua Native Plants are incredibly hardy, grown here in Woodville to withstand our tough Tararua conditions, we are happy to provide advise on planting, care and maintenance, or just let it grow!!

Meet our number one nursery staff member, Girlfriend 😍

Girlfriend is a dedicated member of our team here at Tararua Native Plants. She is in the nursery every day, rain or shine, howling wind or thick fog, she's a constant companion to us all here.

However her work ethic is questionable, often found sleeping on the job, catching flies or rolling around begging for attention.

For all of her flaws she oozes charisma and you will love her too!

Our nursery is expanding!

From humble beginnings in the back garden of the Cook family farmhouse only 4 years ago, to a field of natives.

Pip and her family spend time every summer in the bush collecting seeds from the local area to grow in our small wholesale nursery to help re-establish our native biodiversity.
