Reimagining Pride, Light, and Ancestral Memory
Dayambala is a name born from two powerful roots: DAYAWโpride, honor, dignityโand AMBALA, the Aeta community of Sitio Pastolan along the Pamulaklakin Trail. Together, they form a pledge: to celebrate, uplift, and give lasting honor to the Ayta Ambala people whose identity is deeply woven into this land.
The design is shaped by two guiding forces:
โthe Christian symbolism of liwanag, a light that heals, reveals, and inspires;
โand the Ambalaโs enduring relationship with the mountains, the cradle of their stories and spirit.
Sunlight is transformed into waves of color that cascade through the space, bathing it in warm, radiant tonesโa sanctuary of hope and spiritual elevation. The walls rise like the silhouettes of the surrounding ranges, their shifting forms echoing resilience, refuge, and the quiet strength of a culture rooted deeply in its mountains.
Dayambala stands as both a tribute and a promiseโan architecture that carries memory, meaning, and the enduring pride of a people.
