๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ || Encouraging sustainable wild tea livelihoods and conservation efforts, University President Dr. Edgar G. Cue graced a capacity-building activity for wild tea farmers and stakeholders at MPSU Baang Campus, Bauko, MP on 09 January 2026.
In his message, Dr. Cue emphasized the significance of said activity, highlighting how said initiative โreflects our shared commitment to sustainable development that honors both people and the environment.โ
โWild tea, deeply rooted in the natural heritage of Mountain Province, is more than an agricultural resource. It is a symbol of our rich biodiversity and indigenous knowledge,โ he said.
Dr. Cue also added that through this capacity-building in propagation, processing, and conservation, it his hoped that it will empower communities to create sustainable livelihoods while also safeguarding the natural ecosystems.
The said activity titled, โEmpowering Communities through Production and Biodiversity Conservation of Wild Tea Plants in Mountain Provinceโ, is part of a project funded by the Department of Science & Technology (DOST) and is being implemented by MPSU. #
