Design Description
Project: Integrated 4-Unit Residential Apartment
Location: Bambang, Bulacan
The proposed project is a two-storey residential apartment building composed of four dwelling units within a single cohesive structure. The configuration includes:
Two loft-type units designed for vertical living with semi-private sleeping spaces.
Two standard apartment units, with one unit located at the ground floor and one at the second floor.
The building integrates all four units into a unified architectural form while maintaining functional independence, privacy, and efficient vertical and horizontal circulation.
Architectural Concept
The design adopts a modern minimalist approach, emphasizing clean lines, geometric simplicity, and balanced proportions. The façade is unified with a light and white color palette, creating a bright and airy appearance. Subtle stripe accents are applied to selected exterior surfaces, providing depth, rhythm, and visual interest while keeping the design simple and contemporary.
The unified building form ensures that the loft and standard units share a coherent visual identity while remaining functionally distinct.
Space Planning and Organization
Loft Units (2 units)
Ground level: living area, dining, kitchen, toilet & bath
Loft level: semi-private sleeping or flexible space overlooking the living area
Standard Units (2 units)
Ground floor: living area, dining, kitchen, and toilet & bath (for the ground-floor standard unit)
Second floor: living area, dining, kitchen, and toilet & bath (for the upper-floor standard unit)
Each unit is designed to maximize usable space while maintaining privacy and comfort. The loft configuration introduces vertical openness, while the standard units provide straightforward, functional layouts. Circulation and access are carefully planned to maintain independence between units while keeping a unified structural framework.
Comfort and Functionality
Natural ventilation and daylighting: Large window openings promote cross ventilation and natural lighting.
Spatial efficiency: Vertical and horizontal planning maximize lot utilization while providing comfortable living spaces.
Privacy: Each unit maintains independent access and functional separation.
Materials and Finishes
The building uses reinforced concrete construction for structural stability. Exterior walls feature smooth plaster finishes with high-quality light-colored paint, complemented by subtle stripe accents to enhance aesthetic appeal. Materials are selected for durability, low maintenance, and a modern minimalist look.
Design Intent
This project delivers a simple, efficient, and modern residential solution that combines loft and standard apartment units into a single integrated building. The design balances aesthetics, functionality, and cost-effectiveness, providing comfortable living spaces for a total of four households in a compact lot.
