46 days into our groundwork phase ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

From dismantling an existing structure to overcoming a challenging excavation process, this stage demanded patience, precision, and strong teamwork on site. Every step came with its own difficulties, but our team faced each challenge head-on and steadily achieved important milestones ๐Ÿ’ช

Today, we are almost ready for another major phase of construction as we prepare for our slab works. Progress like this is never only about concrete and steel. It is about dedication, coordination, and the hardworking people behind the helmets who make every plan become reality ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Mukhang practical.

โ€ข may material substitution
โ€ข may detailing na kailangang linawin

Kapag Client ang Nag-take Over
1. Unti-unting nawawala ang design
Hindi agad halata.
Konting adjust dito.
Konting compromise doon.

2. Convenience Over Design

3. Late Lumalabas ang Problema
Pag tapos na, saka napapansin:
โ€ข hindi balanced ang spaces
โ€ข mali ang flow
โ€ข kulang sa natural light
โ€ข pangit ang detailing
โ€ข may maintenance issues
At kapag tapos na, mahal na ayusin.

Kapag Wala si Architect, Hindi na Nasusunod ang Approved Drawings
Ito ang pinaka-critical.
Habang tumatakbo ang project na walang architect:
Nagiging interpretation na lang ang drawings.
Mahalagang maintindihan:
Resulta:
โ€ข kanya-kanyang adjustment sa site
โ€ข decisions based on convenience
in the
Pinag-aralan yan:
โ€ข circulation
โ€ข ventilation
โ€ข lighting
โ€ข ergonomics
โ€ข proportions
โ€ข may domino effect sa ibang systems
โ€ข may maintenance issues sa future
โ€ข mas mahal ang repair kaysa sa tamang ex*****on

Yung Akalang Tipid, Nagiging Mas Mahal
Maraming clients ang nagte-take over para makatipid.
Pero ang nangyayari:
โ€ข rework
โ€ข maling procurement
โ€ข delay
โ€ข compromised quality
โ€ข additional hidden costs

Sasabihin:
"Maganda naman ang kinalabasan."
Pero kapag sinuri mo nang maigi:
โ€ข maraming detailing ang mali
โ€ข may functional issues

May approved drawings

Why Many Architecture Graduates Are Confused About Apprenticeship

One of the biggest misconceptions among fresh architecture graduates is the belief that apprenticeship automatically means professional employment with professional-level compensation.

It does not.

Many graduates enter offices expecting higher salaries immediately after graduation, assuming that becoming an โ€œapprenticeโ€ signals entry into the profession. In reality, apprenticeship is still part of the training phase required before licensure.

Under Philippine practice regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission and the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture, supervised experience is a prerequisite to becoming a licensed architect. The purpose of this period is competency development, not income advancement.

Apprenticeship Is a Requirement, Not a Promotion

Graduation does not immediately translate into professional status.

At this stage, you are:

Building documented experience

Learning real construction processes

Understanding liability and documentation

Accumulating required training hours for licensure

This period exists so future architects gain exposure to real-world responsibility before receiving legal authority to practice.

You are still earning qualification, not yet exercising it.

The Reality of Compensation
This is the part many schools do not openly discuss.
Some architectural apprenticeships offer:

Minimal salary
Small allowance
Transportation support only
Or in some cases, no allowance at all

This situation is not new. Many previous trainees completed apprenticeship primarily for experience and licensure eligibility rather than financial gain.

That reality may feel unfair, but it reflects how architectural training historically functions: learning precedes earning.

Why Expectations Become Misaligned

Graduates often assume:
A diploma equals professional status
Apprenticeship equals promotion
Experience automatically commands higher pay

None of these assumptions hold true during the pre-licensure stage.

The profession separates education, training, and licensure very strictly.

Until licensure is achieved, responsibility remains under supervising architects, and compensation typically reflects that limited authority.

A Necessary Mindset Shift

Approach apprenticeship as:
An investment period
A phase for absorbing knowledge aggressively
A time to understand construction realities
Preparation for the licensure examination

Expecting immediate financial reward during apprenticeship often leads to frustration. Understanding its purpose prevents disappointment.

The Uncomfortable but Honest Take

Architecture is a delayed-reward profession.

You endure:

1. Years of academic training
2. Required apprenticeship experience
3. Licensure examination preparation

Only after completing these stages does professional leverage begin.

Apprenticeship is not where you cash in.
It is where you earn the right to become licensed.
