A unique product line using abaca as the main material. The abaca is planted and harvested by farmers and rebel returnees in the mountains of Lagonglong. Using heirloom hand-

looms, the women and a few men in town weave the abaca into sinamay (loosely woven abaca cloth) and hinabul (densely woven abaca cloth). Creative twists – or treats – involve weaving in dried grass, cotton, paper, and even aluminum wire. And a thing of beauty emerges. Metaphor. Memory. Moment, or memento. Tinabuan Arts & Crafts is an ancestral home that once included a general store, a bakery, and a pharmacy. It’s a beautiful Wednesday, and we’re bringing all the good vibes your way!

​Today, we’re featuring the Tru Luv Tote, named in honor of Martha Faye Tiro Uyguangco, or Mai, a mother of two and a dedicated consultant at the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental.

​This bag is a true celebration of local collaboration.

It starts with the beautiful bagtok weaving done by Nong DongDong and Nang Nica Ponticha in Bukidnon, and comes together with genuine leather handles hand-stitched by Marvin Arocho of Goldishoes in CDO.

Proof that when our local artisans come together, pure magic happens.
