Research say utricularias and some sundews can live on waterlogged areas. Well, looks about right! This setup is now half a year old and we can see growth underneath while those that reached the surface immediately made glue. The utricularias are even flowering. Imagine that, a setup with traps both at the top and under. Happy growing!

Three pots ready to see their new home today! It is best to give them really good sunlight to keep their colors (reddish tips for jade and dark almost black leaves for the black prince) and at the same time, away from spots that get frequent water exposure. Being succulents, they absorb water for drought purposes so too much will hurt them instead. Once a week or after 2 weeks would be fine. A big thank you to our colleague for buying!
Happy growing!

New to loving CP? Carnivorous plants?Creepy plants? You can always start with the N.trichocarpa! They are one of the most forgiving and beginner friendly pitcher plants. If given the wrong water, soil, or light levels, it will simply stop producing pitchers, and not immediately die out on you. You will have time to practice providing the right needs for carnivorous plants.

Happy growing!

Thank you and shout out to our recent pumice and trichocarpa buyers as well!

Nepenthes trichocarpa living on rich black soil for over a year! These tropical pitcher plants are known to live on nutrient free soil and produce eye catching pitchers to trap insects for nutrients. However, as seen in this experiment, they are constantly creating pitcherless leaves probably because the pitchers are no longer needed in such an environment.

It might pitcher up someday, but for now and in contrast, the next picture shows a Nepenthes trichocarpa in ideal grounds (pure cocopeat).

Happy Sunday, stay safe, and happy growing, everyone!

The Cebu Blue Pothos! Be careful when getting one as sellers can mislabel the normal dragon tail pothos (Epipremnum Pinnatum) as cebu blue pothos (Epipremnum Pinnatum 'Cebu Blue'). The difference? The dragon tail leaves are dark green, while the cebu blue leaves have silvery and bluish hues. Similarly though, their new leaves are light green so be watchful. Happy growing!
