The client is drawn to interiors that are simple and pared back, yet also cosy and inviting. This 24.5 sqm condo unit is a perfect example to illustrate the Japandi style into a small space, creating schemes that are functional and intentional, while also mixing natural materials and clean lines.

Vertical wooden paneling and lime-washed walls break up the swathes of white paint, adding appeal without detracting from the calm ambience. All reflect a simple, relaxed style, with lots of neutral tones, soft textures, minimalist lines and sculptural shapes.

Setting out to offer a new interpretation of the iconic Japanese design era, we developed the area based on the philosophy of the brand, Tokyo Lush—coalescing the simplistic concepts of Japan, lush & luxury, and beauty & wellness into a single space.

The palette is played out in quiet, neutral blushes along with varied textures like matte finishes, linen and velvet fabrics, dark wood furnishings, and ceramic floor tiles—all to form a space that is clean, zen, and low maintenance, while still building on elegance and exclusiveness to the experience.

BOHOL CO-OPERATIVE MULTIPURPOSE BUILDING & APARTMENTS
CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
CONSTRUCTION PHASE
Panglao, Bohol

The site is located on the main road of Brgy. Poblacion in Panglao, the southernmost town of Bohol, a place where low-density commercial and residential activity is currently available. It's also part of the ecological route that seeks to bring nature closer to people, locals and visitors alike. Encouraging the community’s identity, the space recreates the natural landscape whilst unifying with more modern and elements and sustainable features.

Divided into four levels, the building comprises of the ground floor for multi-purpose use, two stories for the apartments, and the roof deck. The ground floor incorporates the Co-op office, retail spaces, a function hall, a swimming pool and bar. The second and third floors are apartments that include twin bedrooms and dormitory types. A beautiful, panoramic view of the town can be sighted at the roof deck, which also entails a restaurant and a bar.

Architecture combined with social responsibility and a clear environmental focus is the basis of our design work. The notion of plants, trees, and people coexisting under one roof can be made distinct as timelier and more essential than ever.
