There were three (3) major challenges for the project: a 100sqm house, a 5-car carport, and a commercial / retail at the front, built in phases in a narrow lot.

The house is designed in a way where the two masses were split to accommodate the living and dining through and through the gardens at both ends. Topped with a gable roof that peaks between the foyer and the living space, and downs at both the kitchen and the porch, giving the foyer a grand entrance and an intimate scale with the overhang at the porch approaching the main door.

Located in a slightly narrowed rectangular lot in San Remigio, Cebu, this two-bedroom 100sqm residence will be inhabited with the client’s parents in mind.

The foyer is oriented towards the east and with a five-car park up front as requested by the client as part of the design brief, consequently contributing to the configuration of the floor plan.

Due to restrictions, having a firewall on one side was imperative. Inserting a pocket garden at this side ensures all the rooms to be crossed ventilated while allowing the central living spaces to be opened and illuminated with natural indirect lighting throughout the day.

House at Southplains

a dwelling for a modern-young family, a home where your journey begins, and how memories are being embedded through time.

a 230sqm. residential building, 3 car carport, with 3 bedrooms up and 1 guest bedroom below. Open plan interior with gardens and deck on both sides.
