Praying for Mindanao 🙏

In times of uncertainty and hardship, may we come together in compassion, solidarity, and hope.

Let us keep the people of Mindanao in our thoughts and prayers, especially those affected by the recent powerful quake. 🙏

PRC Recognizes National Interior Design Week

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in collaboration with the Professional Regulatory Board of Interior Design (PRB-ID), formally recognizes the annual observance of the National Interior Design Week. The Commission underscores its commitment to honoring the interior design profession and its significant contribution to society and national development.

The celebration is rooted in Proclamation No. 390, series of 2012, signed by then President Benigno S. Aquino III, declaring the last week of May of every year as “National Interior Design Week.” The proclamation aims to raise public awareness on the vital role of interior design in improving the nation’s quality of life, enhancing productivity, and ensuring environmental responsibility in the development of spaces.

Through this recognition, the PRC reaffirms that interior designers are not merely aesthetic professionals but key contributors to nation-building. Their work shapes functional, safe, and sustainable environments that support economic activity, public health, and cultural identity.

The entire nation brings together Filipino designers, architects, and industry stakeholders, showcasing their talents, exchanging diverse ideas, and exploring dynamic trends in interior design.

The PRC continues to champion the profession by upholding the highest standards of practice, ensuring that interior designers are given due recognition for their indispensable role in shaping the spaces where Filipinos live, work, and thrive.

The real glow-up in The Devil Wears Prada might actually be the interior set design.

In 2006, production designer Jess Gonchor and set decorator Lydia Marks created Runway as cold, pristine, intimidating luxury: white walls, sharp lines, and controlled perfection. Miranda’s office felt like power itself.

By 2026, Jess Gonchor returns with a warmer, larger, more editorial Runway. The sequel trades exclusivity for layered lifestyle luxury: softer lighting, residential textures, collaborative spaces, and interiors shaped by the digital age of fashion media.

Which Runway era would you rather work in: 2006 minimalism or 2026 soft luxury? 👠✨ Like this post if you noticed the interiors before the outfits.

A small corner can still make a big impact. 🪻🌼

One of the easiest ways to elevate a space is by using a strong wall color paired with light furniture and layered textures. In this setup, the deep lavender wall adds personality, while the white furniture keeps the space feeling clean, balanced, and bright.

What if some of the city’s most meaningful spaces are the ones rarely acknowledged in design discourse?

Dr. Lionel Sanchez, principal designer of SDSI, examines how q***r communities navigate everyday interior environments such as gyms, leisure spaces, nightlife venues, and semi-public facilities through subtle spatial cues involving lighting, circulation, atmosphere, and movement.

His research explores how experiences of safety, belonging, discretion, and social interaction are shaped not only by architecture itself, but also by the ways spaces are interpreted, negotiated, and shared through everyday use. Grounded in the UP Cebu Design Program’s Urbanity research agenda, the study reflects on how urban interiors become part of the lived social fabric of the city, particularly for communities navigating visibility and inclusion.

Presented at the UP Diliman Philippine Q***r Studies Conference.

How do interiors shape the ways people connect, navigate, and belong within the city?

Join the conversation on urban life, design, and the unseen spatial experiences that often remain undocumented. 🏙️🏳️‍🌈
