Good soil for plants is usually comprised of 50% organic , 25% air space and 25% water space. Clay, hard pan and compacted soils lack the necessary space for air and water.

Beneficial microorganisms make up a portion of the organic matter in good soil. Without proper air and water, many microorganisms can’t survive.

Coco peat increases the porosity of the potting mix. This helps to keep the soil loose and airy helping in better root growth. Better root growth results in better plant growth and higher yield.

Coco peat increases the water holding capacity of the potting mix even as it increases the porosity of the soil. This ensures that the plant does not suffer from overwatering or underwatering.

High porosity, high water holding capacity and high cation exchange capacity together mean that the quantity of coco peat required per plant can be very less.

Coco peat has excellent properties that make it a very forgiving hydroponic (soilless) medium. Being an organic medium it has high Cation Exchange Capacity allowing nutrients to be absorbed and released to the plants according to their need.

🌱10% Charcoal

The benefits of charcoal are mainly intended for growing media and plant fertility. This is because charcoal is less able to bind large amounts of water so that it is suitable for use in areas that have high humidity.

The charcoal plant media has its own appeal because it is capable of being a buffer so that if there is a mistake in the provision of nutrients, the charcoal is able to immediately neutralize and adapt it again.³

Besides charcoal has properties that are not easily weathered so it is safe from interference from fungi and animals that can harm plants. However, the use of charcoal as a planting medium has a weakness that is a low nutrient content so the need for supply
