July is such a beautiful month, as the harvest of summer fruits transition to the fruits of the rainy season. Some produce meet & overlap & we get to enjoy both worlds.
For the rainy ones: We're not having avocado this time because last year's typhoon Paeng cut huge branches from our neighboring tree. Luckily though, we will have rambutan, which we didn't have last year. Our small tree has baby green fruits already & they will probably ripen in the ber-months. The dragon fruits are here again as well, yet we don't see the sour santol around.
For the summer ones: The pineapples which we had last summer from March to May, are still producing this year until August. As our piko mango tree also produced fruits around May, which didn't fruit last year. The kinalabaw mangoes came in March, consistent with last year. And we have also been enjoying the indian mango variety, as well as wild passion fruits, which fruited January & February last year. Weird we are having them during the rains this time. Even the guyabanos appeared in April, but last year they came around August to October.
We notice some differences with how the fruits are produced, yet we are still very thankful for all the harvest. The abundant variety of fruits we get to eat continue to nourish us, giving us energy so we may nourish them back.
