Breaking Ground Soon..
Urban Oasis
Green Architecture and/or Sustainable Design, whatever environmentalists brand it, is now fast becoming the standard practice of architecture.
Green and sustainability are no longer options but rather a lifestyle to be adopted to help, in our own way, reduce or abate the deterioration of the environment. This has become our guiding principle when designing human shelters whatever the building typology and size; to waste less, consume less, harnessing nature, providing occupants comfort and increased liveability. This, too, allows project viability for developers not just on initial capital outlay but on the actual building operation, maintenance and sustainability.
Deviating from the usual floor to open space ratio for maximum revenue, our clients, instead, wants to create an oasis for tenants and consumers alike for maximized quality of life. We increased open spaces for landscape and vegetation, introduced promenades and green corridors, incorporated areas for both passive and active recreation. We also have intentional gaps between structures for permeability, naturally lighting the interior spaces and to conduce the “Venturi Effect” phenomenon that naturally cools interiors. Solar heat gain is controlled and mitigated by brise soleil that is shaped, spaced and formed by carefully studying the solar path.
The most important planning work we did for this project was espousing the ten points of sustainability into the design: keep the sun out, let light in, catch breeze, insulate roof, harvest rainwater, recycle greywater, indoor thermal comfort, renewable materials, alternative energy.
This modern, green building shall soon become the new lifestyle destination in the city and home to gourmet restaurants, fancy coffee shoppes, delicatessen, specialty electronics and gadget outlets, health, wellness, fitness, beauty and cosmetic centres, kids’ play area, a sporting facility (covered pickleball court and half-court basketball) at the roof deck and proposed hotel and spa at the upper floors.
This development shall set a new standard for urban architecture in the City; balancing profit, eco-consciousness and stewardship of the environment.
