A car-free, pollution-free, emission-free megacity in the shape of a 200-metre wide, 500-metre high mirrored skyscraper wall that will span 170 kilometres of desert -- Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has since revealed the "future of urban living". Neom's The Line which has started its construction last October 2021, will eventually accommodate 9 million people and will be built on a footprint of just 34 square kilometers. Despite its dystopian facade, it is designed to put humans first while preserving the surrounding nature. It will allegedly run in 100% renewable energy. Moreover, its residents will be able to access its facilities within a 5-minute walk, in addition to a high-speed rail with an end-to-end transit of 20 minutes. Will this development change city planning and city living forever?

A dog parent's literal dream house: located in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand designed by EKAR. The owner of the house wanted a space for them and their dogs, not only to live comfortably in, but also for both of their recreation. The structure includes a hotel for other dogs to meet each other, including a dog care and salon center. The architect studied the context of the site, and as far as human and dog behavior to design a house fit for the client's needs. Nowadays, pets are not "only" pets, but members of the family, so much so that we include them in quite literally everything. A gigantic golden ball suspended at the middle of a building that prevents a skyscraper from being destructed by earthquakes and typhoons — sounds rather absurd the first time you hear about it. However, this is the exact solution used by Thornton Tomasetti's engineers in designing Taipei 101. This is the "wind damper", and currently, Taipei 101's is the second largest in the world. Moreover, it is one of the only two in the world that is open to visitors. It generates reaction force to negate shock or vibration caused by outside forces, so people inside the skyscraper can live and work in comfort.
