In a world that glorifies diamonds as symbols of wealth and beauty, what if we told you wood is far more valuable?

Wood is formed under conditions not commonly found across the cosmos. Water, atmosphere, and life are rare in the known universe. Diamonds, however, are abundant on planets with carbon-rich mantles.

This really helps us contextualize how much we take this miracle of life for granted, while placing more value on material things like diamonds. It made me reflect on what we should truly value in life.

One of the comments that struck me during the interview is that that foremen are often “more knowledgeable” than licensed professionals because they know the actual work.

But this is exactly why many of our cities feel hostile to humans. Too often, projects are left to ex*****on without vision.

Roads are widened for cars, but sidewalks vanish. Drainage is patched, but long-term flood control is ignored. Parks, green spaces, and pedestrian pathways are sacrificed for “faster” solutions.

The truth is building livable, resilient cities requires more than technical shortcuts. It requires professionals trained in urban planning and flood control. People who understand not just construction, but also sustainability, mobility, and human well-being.
