Caladium humboldtii or more commonly known as "Dwarf Caladium"

This decorative foliage plant displays green leaves splashed heavily with contrasting white markings. They can be grown as pot plants, as a specimen plant, or as massed colour for shaded tropical areas.

Caladiums are well-adapted in warm, humid, and indirect sunlight. Regular watering is needed to keep the soil moist, but over watering can lead to rotting of the corm. Regular fertilizing with half strength liquid fertilizer will give sturdy growth.

Propagation is from offsets from larger corms. All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.

Surprisingly, these Lemon lime Philodendron and Neon pothos of mine produce pronounced sport variegation which could possibly resulted from genetic mutation.

Sports with desirable characteristics are often propagated vegetatively to form new cultivars that retain the characteristics of the new morphology. Such selections are often prone to "reversion", meaning that part or all of the plant reverts to its original form.

Hmmm...Should I cut the leaves without variegation and leave the one with dark green variegation? 🧐🔍

STRAWBERRY GERANIUM PLANT

The Strawberry Begonia plant, or Strawberry Geranium as it is sometimes called, is neither a begonia nor a geranium, but rather a member of the Saxifrage family. It does have bluish-green, fuzzy leaves like those of a begonia and it does spread by sending out “stolen” or “runners” like a strawberry plant; but a Strawberry Begonia is really an evergreen native to Asia and a close relative of the Piggyback plant. A Strawberry Begonia produces a lovely, white flower with pointed petals and a bright, yellow center. Like a strawberry plant, new babies develop at the ends of each of the “stolen.” Indoors or on your porch a Strawberry Begonia makes a beautiful hanging plant. Outdoors it can also be an excellent ground cover in your garden.

Peperomia caperata 'Rosso'

Peperomia caperata 'Rosso', more correctly known as Peperomia 'Eden Rosso', is an eye-catcher because of its red color on the underside of the leaf. The upper surface of the pointed leaves is dark green, sometimes with a blush of red, and dark green veins. It contains both male and female flowers on the same spike and typically blooms under daylength conditions of less than 12 hours of light.
