RECTO ARNIS / Recto-Eskrima-Methods Recto Arnis is located in Kabankalan City Negros Occidental. The sticks that we use are tapered or pointed for both the Espada and the Daga.

Recto-Eskrima-Method Style Description:

Recto-Eskrima-Method uses Espada y Daga (sword and dagger), single baston and staff for all of its methods. The daga is longer (12 to 16 inches) compared to the other commonly used daga by other systems of espada y daga. The style itself is composed of a majority of infighting methods in eskrima where the eskrimador goe

Majority of the stances that we use are low and stable stances while some of the methods influenced by fencing uses fencing footworks. The empty hand method is called “juego de toro” or game of the bulls. Empty hands in Recto eskrima are the last methods taught to the students. Both of the remaining Grandmasters of Recto-Eskrima-Methods have students that are now in prison due to misuse of the art. So, students who wants to learn the style are being evaluated thoroughly through their character and attitudes under a probationary period.

It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you this truly sad news of the death of our beloved Tatay Max A. Recto. Tatay Max peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home at around 11am last Monday Nov. 26,2018. We pray that the love of family and friends will bring comfort and strength in the days ahead to the Recto family.

There is always that reluctant character common to a majority of Genuine Masters of Eskrima where they humbly refuse of being called the title of a Grandmaster or any sort of title that would glorify their names.. There was once an old and humble master of Baston Largo Mano that would prefer his student calling him "lolo" (grandpa) instead of a grandmaster. And we have Max and Morito Recto respectfully addressed by their students as "tatay" (father) or "tyoy" (uncle). This portrays the Filipino culture and it also depicts Eskrima being passed down traditionally within a family from grandfathers to their grand childrens, from a father to his sons and daughters, from Uncles to their neices and nephews. Because of this secrecy and exclusiveness, if an eskrima master "entrusts" his family art to an outsider, that student would then become part of his family.

The video shows Morito Recto exclusively teaching and entrusting a unique method of eskrima called "Cuatro Puntas y Dulo" inside his house.
