Reminding myself and you that a full house renovation takes time, years, maybe a whole lifetime. There are things that really p me off - like the doors that don’t open (and my pregnant bump no longer fit through 😂) - and there are rooms that will just take us years to get to whilst we prioritise other things. It’s a journey! But it’s a fun one (almost always) and a real privilege to do it. Also there’s some really ruddy good bits to enjoy in the meantime ♥️ And the biggest learning: the time it’s taking is ensuring we’re getting it right this time. We learnt a LOT from our last home renovation which we’re implementing every day.

ad From sketch to reality. And the reality is even better than I imagined!

I’ve been searching for the perfect daybed for the nursery: somewhere we can pile on for stories, nursing and eventually movie nights all together. But that can transform into a proper guest bed when we need it. & I wanted it to be joyful.

This is the Maud daybed from Authentic Handcast Metal Beds - the full single size with a trundle. The moment I started chatting to the team, this vision hit me and I fired over a rough sketch: a rainbow sensation. They ran with it completely, executed it to a tee, and I was so excited when it arrived.

Handmade in Cornwall, using traditional Victorian methods with Naturalmat mattresses & cushions made using natural fibres for our (very lucky) future guests. The main character of this room. Now I just need to finish the rest of the nursery to match her energy.

Yes I know I’m about to give birth! But also my garden is overgrown! Here’s another talky on another minor project I’ve decided to take on right now. Watch as I continue to nest to the most intense levels moments before I’m due to have a baby. And just so you know, I have a grass strimmer on charge and am planning my pathway. Let’s do this

The biggest mistake people make with colour is not trying! I love this audio so much. Relatively, paint IS cheap. You can cover a lot of walls and ceilings for a good price and may discover a complete transition in mood and feel of a space. It’s so worth the risk. I hope you’ll take it! Follow along for more.

I have a new microphone so please be nice - my first talky! I’m due to give birth in the next few weeks so what better time to ignore the rooms that haven’t been renovated and REdecorate two rooms?! All because of my love for my children.

My daughter sleeps in bed with us almost every night but I think she’ll get a rude awakening when there’s a screaming babe with us too so I want to make her bedroom more fun for her. She’s chosen the wallpaper, which is going to be so fun, and then we’ll swap out some art too and the massive light shade that she’s thought was too big from the start. (Any recommendations of great art for kids is much appreciated!!)

Then whilst the baby won’t sleep in the nursery for a little while we will spend a lot of time there, so wallpaper, changing area, again more art. And a great daybed instead of the double that’s in there now.
