Meet Christine from Tivat, Montenegro 🇲🇪
“I am originally from Iloilo, Philippines. I am a former seafarer who found my destiny in Montenegro – a place where I also boost my passion for cooking and gardening.
Because cooking is something that I love to do, I need the right ingredients to serve better food on the table. However, living in a place where the supplies are impossible to find, I decided to grow my own food.
I live in Tivat, Montenegro and fortunately, we have a 260 square meter yard where I can grow many crops that I love including Asian vegetables because they are not available here. I also grow different varieties of heirloom tomatoes and chillies. I save seeds to share and sell some as well.
My family and I build good soil by adding compost and manure and the plants really love this rich soil. One of the things that we always have trouble with is the weather. Sudden changes in temperature are not good.
Bountiful harvest is sometimes overwhelming but it is really rewarding to see healthy crops and to be able to sell them to those who appreciate these varieties.”
