“Mama can we check cakes for my birthday?”
And of course, I said yes instantly. 🤍
We opened Pinterest together. We saw princess cakes, colorful rainbows, cartoon characters, flowers… all the grand and fancy ones. I honestly thought yun yung pipiliin niya because she’s only 3. Kids usually love bright and over-the-top things diba?
But then she pointed at this simple white cake with tiny red hearts and said,
“That one mama. I want that with hearts.” ❤️
I kept scrolling pa, thinking maybe she’d find something “better.”
But she looked at me again and said,
“Mama, I like the one with the hearts. Stop scrolling.” 🥹
And in that moment, I realized… my baby really has the simplest heart.
Even in supermarkets ganun siya. One chocolate is enough. One drink is enough. Never demanding. Never asking for too much.
I remember when her auntie bought her a huge pack of diapers when she was 2, she even said,
“This is too many, we only need little.” 😭
Sometimes I just stare at her and wonder how someone so small can have such a gentle and content heart.
Her birthday is this July, and honestly… I’m already emotional. Watching your baby grow is such a beautiful ache. 🤍
