Most people grow the Iron Cross for the leaves…
but today mine decided to flower. 🌸

The bold cross pattern already looks unreal, but seeing delicate blooms rise above that textured leaf feels like a quiet reward for patience.

Remember when I talked about the puddle method and how well it worked for me? Those were just corms back then. Now, I've transferred 4 of them to my small self-watering cups. Check out my previous post to see how fast they grew. The 2 Alocasia Polly pink var have 2 leaves now, and my 2 maharani albo corms have 1 leaf each. I've moved them to cups because they were outgrowing their space.

I've been growing Alocasias for a while now, and corms have always been a topic of interest. Today, I tried the puddle method for the corms that weren't thriving. Why? Because it works!

I previously grew corms in tiny cups with perlite and aqua soil, but some didn't grow or rotted. I also tried sphagnum moss with similar results. However, the corms I grew using the puddle method two weeks ago are now rooted and doing great.

I'm switching all my corms to this method. We invest time and money in our plants, so it's worth figuring out the best way to grow them. I hope this helps!
