Meet my Venus flytrap ā€˜Cupped Trapā€™. Hindi lang siya basta flytrap, may kakaibang ā€œcup-shapedā€ traps na fused sa dulo, kaya super astig tingnan at effective pa rin manghuli ng insekto.

Fun fact: Ang ā€˜Cupped Trapā€™ ay resulta ng tissue culture mutation sa Agristarts III lab sa Florida, USA. Officially registered ito bilang cultivar noong 2003 ni Steven Stuart. Dahil sa mutation na ito, naging distinct ang itsura niya at mabilis din magparami ng offsets, kaya perfect for collectors.

Meet my Stylidium debileā€”kasama ko na siya since 2019. Hindi lang siya basta cute, may kakaibang galing din: kilala siya bilang ā€œfrailty triggerplantā€ at isa siyang carnivorous plant.

Fun fact: May sticky na mga buhok (glandular trichomes) sa flower stems niya na kayang manghuli at tunawin ang maliliit na insekto. Plus, mabilis gumalaw ang ā€œtriggerā€ ng bulaklak niya para sa pollinationā€”astig, ā€˜di ba?

Hi, everyone! Itā€™s been a while since I last posted here. Iā€™ve been in the hobby since 2018, and Iā€™ve missed all the fun conversations about carnivorous plants.

Just found some old photos on my phoneā€”mostly throwback pics of my plants. Nakakatuwa balikan yung mga memories at progress sa pag-aalaga natin ng mga Venus flytraps at iba pang carnivorous plants!

Right now, Iā€™m here in Canada, but my passion for these plants hasnā€™t faded.

ā€œGrowth takes time and patience, just like our plants. Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to look back and appreciate how far weā€™ve come.ā€
