🌿🌺🌿Topic for today is what is the use of TAWAS or POTASSIUM ALUMINUM SULFATE to our soil and plants: Ps. read until the end it helps a lot.
To start with use of tawas in our garden, we must know that tawas is not a fertilizer. The main use in the garden is to improve soil PH that the soil.Amendment purpose
For beginner a ph level of 7.0 is acidic while soil with a ph above 7.0 is alkaline. People living in dry climates often have alkaline soil, while climate with higher rainfalls typically have acidic soils.
Soil ph is very important in gardening, because unbalanced soil.makes more difficult for plants to absord nutrients in the soil.
Most plants do well soil ph between 6.0 and 7.2 either slightly acidic or slightly alkaline.
Some plants, including hydrangeas, grapes, strawberries, blueberries abd even our hibicus love acidic soil. This is where the role of Tawas comes in to lower soil ph, thus making the soil suitable for acid loving plants.
We can use in water plants to settle down dirty water and prevent formation of larvae wiyhin the water & also control the mosquito growth by killing them at the larvae stage in water. Then, it is also believe to keep slug & snail away & certain other insects loke cockroaches.
Follow this instruction:
Delute vinegar (Acitic acid), its a liquid & you need to add frequently like once a week or so. To maintain ph, but mixing tawas powderin soil keeps the soil acidic for a longer times.
I hope it helps a lot this research i've done. Happy reading po. Yours truly Alma
