The reason this is so critical is that the solubility of nutrients changes at different pH levels, which affects the ability of the plant to absorb these nutrients. If the plant has trouble absorbing nutrients from your solution, growth will be stunted, and the plant will eventually die. If levels are too high and the plant absorbs higher than acceptable amounts of nutrients, it can die from poisoning. You can have the coolest hydroponics setup in the world, but if your pH is off, all your plants will still die.

Out of doors, a vegetable garden needs at least 4-6 hours of direct sun; plus 8-10 more hours of bright light. So for your inside hydroponics garden, you will need to duplicate this. Plan on 14-16 hours of bright artificial light, followed by 8-10 hours of darkness.

How to Germinate your Lettuce Seeds

There are a lot of ways to Germinate seeds.
But for this tutorial, we are going to use Coco coir dust or cocopeat.

Materials
Coco coir/ coco peat
Container where you are going to sow your seeds
Seeds
Water

Procedure
*Wash your hands thoroughly
*Put cocopeat in your container
*moisten cocopeat with water, just enough that when you try to hold it in your hands, you can form a ball of some sort. (Not too wet and not dry)
*wash hands and dry it
* take your seeds and drop it on your moistened cocopeat.
*cover and set aside, wait for 24-48 hours to germinate

If you're having a hard time mixing powder nutrients, you can try liquid hydroponic nutrient solution.

5ml of Solution A and 5ml Solution B for every 1Litre of Water.
