FROM VISION TO OFFICE:
Naga City Architectโ€™s Office is in the Works!

Naga City makes a bold step forward with the proposed City Architect's Office, mentioned in the most recent Committee on Organizational Development and Review (ODR) meeting...an important milestone in recognizing architects' role as allies in nation-building and in moulding our community's future.

First advocated by Hon. David Casper Nathan Sergio and written by CM Allan Reiz Macaraig and CY CM Yuan Pacao, this bill is not merely the establishment of a new city office but a major victory for the architecture profession. It reinforces the role of architects to participate positively in policy-making, lead sustainable urban development, and ensure the development of safe, well-designed communities.

This action also arrives at a pivotal moment in the wake of the Supreme Court decision affirming only architects can sign and seal architectural documents, asserting the necessity for strong professional boundaries and pointing out the expert specialization architects contribute in nation- and community-building.

Present to signify support were UAP-Camarines President Ar. John Paul Arellano, Vice President for Operations Ar. Anthony Chris Globo, Secretary Ar. Dino Amiel Bongcayao, and Auditor Ar. Jan Barreda, who represent architects in Naga and adjacent municipalities bound together by a shared commitment to planning a better, future-sufficient city.

The meeting was led by CM Gayle Abonal-Gomez, with CMs Elmer Baldemoro, Doc Butch Borja, and Frank Mendoza present.

UAP is prepared to collaborate with the City of Naga in creating a sustainable, human-oriented, and future-focused urban future.
