String of Hearts*

This evergreen, succulent, trailing vine is perfect for planting in hanging baskets or in pots on shelves or window sills. It is a long-lived and fast-growing plant, and the sprawling vines can hang down several feet once they are mature.

The heart-shaped, fleshy, gray-green foliage has an eye-catching marbled pattern and the thin, string-like vines have a distinctive purple shade.

If you are a fan of big, showy flowers, the string of hearts vine won't be for you. The blooms on this plant are still interesting, though. Tubular and around an inch-long, they have a bulbous base and form into enclosed beads which informs one of its common names - the rosary vine.

FITTONIA*

Fittonia is a compact plant with striking patterned foliage. Fittonia are fairly easy to care for–they can tolerate a range of lighting conditions and like to be kept moist. They prefer humid environments and will benefit from regular misting.
Your Fittonia prefers bright, indirect light. Lower light can cause it to lose some of its vibrant color and growth will slow. Too much light can burn the leaves.
Fittonia loves water and to be consistently moist, but not soggy. Water thoroughly when the top 25% of soil is dry. If you let your Fittonia dry out too much, it will let you know with limp leaves. Not to worry! After a thorough watering, the leaves should soon perk up.
Fittonia will thrive in average room temperatures between 65-80 degrees. Avoid cold drafts and direct airflow from heaters in the winter months.
Average household humidity is acceptable, but it will appreciate higher humidity levels. You can boost the humidity with frequent misting, placing a humidifier nearby, or using a pebble tray. Another way to increase relative humidity is to group several humidity-loving plants together in a small area, creating a micro-climate.

"ADDITIONAL CARE"
Because your Fittonia loves humidity, it will thrive in a terrarium! To make a terrarium, get a glass jar with or without a lid, place a layer of gravel or rocks, and add soil. Plant your Fittonia and add more soil around the plant, watering slightly. Add multiple plants if space in your vessel allows. Terrariums hold humidity very well–your Fittonia won’t have to be watered as often as if it were planted in a pot.

They grow in tropical rainforests as ground cover under canopies of trees. Because of this, they stay relatively small and prefer indirect light. They can be pruned to stay small if you prefer not to repot it into a larger pot.

African Violet*
African Violets prefer bright,
inderect light. Avoid direct sunlight
and keep them at least a few feet away bright south- or west-facing windows. An east- or north- facing window gives them the best lightning without the risk of burning their sensitive foliage. An important point o remember when bottom watering African Violet plants is top water at least once a month. This way you are flushing out any extra fertilizer salt build up and refreshing the soil/roots from the top too. African Violet generally flower the year round, giving an almost continuous display of blooms. They requirethe same temperatures humans find comfortable, making them easy to raise in our home.
