VARIEGATED PANDAN

🪴 Variegated Pandan makes a handsome houseplant. You can enjoy this tropical plant for many years.

🪴 It is fast-growing and will need plenty of room. Even young plants quickly grow a trunk, with leaves spiraling upward. Those arching, creamy yellow-and-green striped leaves will eventually grow up to 3 ft (90 cm) long.

🪴 As plants mature, they'll develop aerial roots. In their native seaside habitat, those stilt roots help to anchor plants from strong winds. Of course, aerial roots are not needed on plants grown indoors -- you can simply tuck them into the pot.

VARIEGATED ALPINIA

🪴The Alpinia zerumbet ‘Variegata’ plant is a herbaceous perennial popular for its attractive foliage and flowers. It belongs in the family of Zingiberaceae (the ginger family).

🪴 Its variegated cultivar is native to India. They can grow up to 8 to 10 ft tall and bear colorful funnel-shaped flowers.

🪴 Variegated ginger is a low maintenance plant featuring upright clumps with fleshy, dense rhizomes, resembling the culinary ginger.

🪴 Long arching stems grow from the rhizomes with several lance-shaped leaves.
As the name suggests, this plant has variegated foliage. It produces green leaves with yellow stripes. However, each leaf varies in its variegation amount – some are green with gold or creamy yellow strips, and others are yellow with green-colored streaks.

SANSEVIERIA aka SNAKE PLANT

🪴 The plants are native to Africa, Madagascar and Southern Asia and for those plant aficionados, they come under the plant family Asparagaceae.

🪴 In NASA’s Clean Air Study, a fascinating study that looked at how the air in space stations could be cleaned and filtered, it found there were a number of plants that can naturally remove toxins in the air. Sansevieria was one of the top performers!

🪴 Well known for it air-purifying qualities, it can remove benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene, and it was even shown that one plant per 100 square foot was enough to efficiently clean the air in a space station!

🪴 Sansevieria are a great example of how plants can improve the air around you and even help you sleep better!

POTTED MARBLE QUEEN POTHOS WITH POLE

🪴 The Marble Queen is native to Southeast Asia, French Polynesia, and Australia. Some passionately argue that it comes from the Solomon Islands.

🪴 The Marble Queen belongs to the Araceae family and is of the Epipremnum Aureum genus, also known as the Pothos genus. The Marble Queen is sometimes known as Devil’s Ivy, a name that’s testament to its hardy nature.

🪴 The Marble Queen is easy and undemanding. Place her in a room that gets a medium amount of natural light, or even in an office or bathroom that gets low light. Rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth.

SHIROSHIMA Variegated Bamboo

🪴 Native to Japan, Himanobambusa tranquillans, 'Shiroshima' is known for the striking variegation on it's large leaves. In Japanese, 'Hibanobambusa' means "Bamboo Growing On Mount Hiba".

🪴The combination of it's large leaves and stunning white stripes, 'Shiroshima' portrays some of brightest and most vibrant colours of the variegated bamboos.

🪴It's ability to grow in full sun and in partial shade makes it versatile in many garden settings. It is also one of the few bamboos that can grow fairly well indoors.

CALATHEA LUTEA: Tropical and Lush

🪴The Calathea Lutea is a unique plant with a wild look that will spice up any garden or indoor living space! These plants are known for their thin stems and outrageously wide tropical leaves.

🪴 This tropical plant is native to Central and South America. That’s why it goes by many names: Havana Cigar, Pampano, Cigar Calathea, or the Maranta Lutea just to list a few.

🪴 Calathea lutea is one of the taller species of the genus Calathea. It makes a fantastic feature plant with its enormous white paddle shaped leaves.

🪴 They are not just ornamental plants, but they are also used for practical purposes. In many countries, the leaves are used in cooking, mainly to wrap fish and rice. Residents of Guatemala use them to wrap delicious tamales.
