With its scientific name, Muntingia calabura, Aratiles is a fruit from a tree whose individual fruits resemble American cranberries, which are from shrubs.

Sweet tamarind plant for only Php50! 😊
Tamarind is a hardwood tree, known scientifically as Tamarindus indica.

It’s native to Africa but also grows in India, Pakistan, and many other tropical regions.

The tree produces bean-like pods filled with seeds surrounded by a fibrous pulp.

The pulp of the young fruit is green and sour. As it ripens, the juicy pulp becomes paste-like and more sweet-sour.

Interestingly, tamarind is sometimes referred to as the “date of India.”

G*i lan, kai-lan, Chinese broccoli, Chinese kale, or jie lan (Brassica oleracea var. alboglabra)is a leaf vegetable with thick, flat, glossy blue-green leaves with thick stems, and florets similar to (but much smaller than) broccoli. Another Brassica oleracea cultivar, g*i lan is in the group alboglabra (from Latin albus "white" and glabrus "hairless"). When gone to flower, its white blossoms resemble that of its cousin Matthiola incana or Hoary Stock. The flavor is very similar to that of broccoli, but slightly more bitter. It is also noticeably stronger than broccoli.
