TARO PLANTS
👉 taro" is universally known as yam and is a staple in local desserts and dim sum. The most famous preparation is Orh Nee, a sweet, creamy taro paste often served with pumpkin and ginkgo nuts.
👉 Taro plants (Colocasia esculenta) take 6 to 12 months to fully mature from roots or tubers. While shoots and leaves appear within 1 to 2 weeks, the plant must grow continuously for at least 6 to 8 months to yield a sizable edible.
