All humanity was lost, unable to follow God’s commands and without hope.
Yet God declared, “I have loved you with an everlasting love “—Jeremiah 32:3. Because of this love, He chose to intervene.
God came to earth in the person of Jesus Christ: “God was manifested in the flesh”
—1 Timothy 3:16
Jesus lived a perfect sinless life, revealing the image of God. It says in, Colossians 1:15
“ He is the image of the invisible God”.
He taught truth, healed the sick, and served others but His mission was clear: “The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many “
—Mark 10:45
He came as the Lamb of God: “ Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the Sin of the world” —John 1:29
He fulfilled the promise of a New Covenant:
“ I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more” —Jeremiah 31:34
Through Him, we are freed from the law:
“ We serve in the new way of the Spirit “
—Romans 7:6
Though innocent, Jesus was betrayed, condemned, and crucified for our sins.
As the gospel declares:
“ Christ died for our sins. He buried, and He rose again the third day”—1 Corinthians 15:3-4
He willingly gave His life,
showing the greatest love:
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” —John 15:13
His sacrifice was once and for all: “We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” —Hebrews 10:10
In this truth we were reminded that our salvation is not earned but given by grace:
The love of Christ is beyond understanding.
And this love will never fail.
Three days after His death, Jesus rose again, conquering sin and death. He ascended into heaven: “He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God”
—Mark 16:19 and even now, “He makes intercession for us” —Romans 8:34
This love calls for a response:
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” —Romans 10:9–10).
This is the greatest love story ever told: God gave His Son, and Jesus gave His life, so that we might be forgiven, restored and have eternal life in Him.
