A promising black maroon from Indonesia. While antfol hybridization is undeniably much more advanced in Thailand, Indonesia does have a few desirable antfol characteristics, notably tough leaves and very intense reds, if you just learn to ignore the usually less-than perfect forms.

Can you spot the endemic ginger, Leptosolena haenkei in my messy garden. Very unusual in that the end of its leaflets make tendrils that coil on the surrounding vegetation. Waiting for flowers tho unsure if it will do that in the lowlands. Apparently, they make salads out of the flowers.

I get stressed when the plants I grow get to perfection because its only downhill from there. Color and form (not so apparent sa photo but absolute perfection) and the leaves are wave-of-love-thick, a nice bonus. Now for a couple of spadices naman. 🤣

Anthurium jenmanii ‘Lovely’ na hindi na lovely. You are not supposed to get them rained on (jenmaniis don’t like being overwatered, unlike most other anthuriums) while still acclimatizing but no more enclosed space.

It’s officially leaf rot season. Is why I prefer hookeri crossed with jenmanii for that thick, tough leaves on anthurium...
