Rather than pushing nature away, this residence welcomes it in allowing the home to grow quietly around what was already alive. At its heart is an interior courtyard that carefully preserves the existing trees, letting them anchor the house both emotionally and spatially. Their presence shapes daily life, filtering light, guiding air, and creating moments of calm that soften the strength of the structure.

The home is thoughtfully designed to breathe. Jalousie windows encourage natural airflow, allowing the house to remain cool and comfortable throughout the day, while glass blocks gently diffuse daylight deep into the interior reducing the need for artificial ventilation and lighting. These elements work quietly in the background, supporting a lifestyle that feels effortless, sustainable, and attuned to the tropical climate.

Through a balance of tropical openness, brutalist honesty, and minimalist restraint, raw concrete and simple forms are softened by light, air, and greenery. Spaces are oriented inward toward the courtyard, creating a sense of intimacy and protection while maintaining openness and connection. This is a home that does not rely on excess, but on intention a quiet refuge where simplicity feels warm, nature feels close, and everyday life unfolds with ease.
