What is the biggest sacrifice if you want to be a contractor? 👷🏻‍♂️👷🏻‍♂️👷🏻‍♂️

May nagtanong sa akin niyan in 1 of my interviews. I didn't get to answer it honestly back then kasi ano nga ba ang isasagot ko?

Time?
Money?
Body?

Now I know what is the biggest sacrifice of contractors.

MENTAL HEALTH.

Subconsiously eto ang nasasackripisyo.

Bakit?

Sleepless nights. Kakaisip ng work. Trying to meet deadlines. Ikaw ang kausap ng lahat.

Billing sa client.

Billing sa iyo.

Schedule ng client.

Schedule ng workers.

Problem ng workers. Problem ng clients. Late billing. Late payments.
Design review. Nanakawan ng gamit. Aayusin sa site. Pagbale ng worker. Paglipat ng worker. Call ng client.

Panic.
Anxiety.
Depression.

Gigising ka sa madaling araw kakaisip anong gagawin mo today.

How many contractors felt this?

To be fair, some of us also caused this to others.

But that was the question asked.

Ano nga ba ang nasasacrifice.

So I'm urging you.

Pause.

Take a deep breath.

Relax.

Find peace knowing na hindi ka nag iisa.

Mental health sacrifice should not be normalized.

Find time and pay attention to your mental health.

Don't let it be demolished while building something else.
