PAGASA announces the start of this year's rainy season over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas on Thursday, June 4.
According to PAGASA, occasional to frequent rains brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat have been observed in the past five days.
The onset of the Habagat was earlier announced on May 30.
Enhanced Habagat rainfall may be experienced over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas during the rainy season due to the looming El Niño.
However, monsoon breaks or periods of reduced rainfall may occur and last for several days or weeks. | via Ariel Rojas, ABS-CBN News
