CSU Becomes First Public University in Caraga to Offer BS Architecture Program
Caraga State University (CSU) is set to make history as the first public university in the Caraga Region to offer a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. The program, along with BS Mechanical Engineering, has received formal approval from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)–Caraga and will be offered starting the first semester of School Year 2026-2027.
According to the facebook post of CSU, CHED-Caraga officially endorsed the programs through the Report on the Result of the Preliminary Assessment (PRPA) No. 001, s. 2026 for the BS Architecture program, issued on January 12, 2026, followed by the mechanical engineering program two days later.
The assessments confirmed that CSU, through its College of Engineering and Geosciences, has substantially complied with all required criteria in administration, faculty, curriculum, library, and laboratory and physical facilities.
With this approval, CSU becomes the first State University and College (SUC) in Caraga to offer BS Architecture and the second in the region to offer BS Mechanical Engineering.
Pending the final approval of the CSU Board of Regents, both programs are slated to start accepting students in SY 2026-2027, expanding CSU’s academic offerings and providing new opportunities for aspiring architects and engineers in the region.
