Mango History
Mango is called the king of fruits. It is grown in tropical and semi-tropical areas and is a summer fruit. It is the foremost delicious fruit within the world. Basically, the mango was the fruit of sub-content/South East Asia.
Mango of the subcontinent and Thailand are tastier and delicious. It is a seasonal fruit and due to different climate zone of the world, Mango ripening time varies. Indian & Pakistani mangoes are in high demand in UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, European Countries, Malaysia, Central Asia, USA, Canada, Turkey, and even in China.
Mangoes are cultivated in South Asia for thousands of years. In the fourth century BC, these reached southeast Asia. In the fifteen century Portuguese name it Mango, a word derived from Tamil (Dravidian) language. They brought it to Europe and America. Now it is being grown in India, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Israel, Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Thailand, Egypt, Sudan, and Indonesia. Cultivation came later to Brazil, Bermuda, the West Indies, and Mexico where the appropriate climate allows its growth.
The mango is now cultivated in most frost-free tropical and warmer subtropical areas. Almost half of the world’s mangoes are cultivated in India along with the second-largest source being China. Mangoes are also grown in Andalusia, Spain as its coastal subtropical weather is one of the few places in mainland Europe that permits the growth of tropical plants and fruit trees. Mango is also grown in other parts of the world in small quantities. Japanese are growing the most expensive variety of mango.
Though India is that the largest producer of mangoes, it accounts for fewer than five (5) you look after the international mango trade; India consumes most of its own production. Many commercial cultivars are grafted on to hard rootstock shoots of mango cultivar, Its root system is well adapted in the tropical and loamy soil of South Asia and coastal Mediterranean climate. More than 1,000 cultivars are easily cultivated using grafted shoots. Mango varies in size, shape, skin, and flesh color. Mango has a yellow, orange, pale, and gold color, the taste and sweetness of mango also vary. Mango is that the national fruit of India, Haiti, and therefore the refore the Philippines and the national tree of Bangladesh. It is the summer national fruit of Pakistan.
