SOLAR PANEL:

Solar panel refers either to a photovoltaic module, a solar thermal energy panel, or to a set of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules electrically connected and mounted on a supporting structure. A PV module is a packaged, connected assembly of solar cells. Solar panels can be used as a component of a larger photovoltaic system to generate and supply electricity in commercial and residential applications. Each module is rated by its DC output power under standard test conditions (STC), and typically ranges from 100 to 320 watts. The efficiency of a module determines the area of a module given the same rated output - an 8% efficient 230 watt module will have twice the area of a 16% efficient 230 watt module. There are a few solar panels available that are exceeding 19% efficiency. A single solar module can produce only a limited amount of power; most installations contain multiple modules. People have started using gas heaters particularly at night to keep rooms warm oblivious to health hazards it poses to human health.
Very few among them are aware of precautionary measures and majority do not care for even if they are known to these precautions. Scattered incidents of suffocating to death in Pakistan surface every year during winter due to keeping gas heaters on for whole the night even when asleep.
Health experts believe that many deaths and number of complications can be avoided by making public aware of the preventive measures. Gas heaters emit carbon monoxide directly into the room and increase the level of indoor pollutants which can potentially harm human health including high incidents of respiratory symptoms.
Heater burning consumes oxygen while gas leakage results in suffocation if the romms are not properly ventilated. Talking to a private news channel, health expert Dr Ayaz Saeed said that some people are more susceptible than others to suffer health effects of gas heaters such as heart disease patients, asthmatics, children and elderly. He said Carbon monoxide is invisible, odourless, colourless and tasteless gas, so is difficult to detect. It is highly poisonous and deprives the body of oxygen

Solar panels turn sunlight into energy through the following steps:

1. Sunlight hits the solar panels on the roof. The solar panels convert the photons in sunlight into electrons of direct current ("DC") electricity.

2. The direct current electricity flows through the inverter, where it is converted to alternating current ("AC") and fed into the grid. AC power is the type of electricity used by all the appliances in your home.

3. The Sunrun meter monitors solar system production to ensure it is producing as it should.

4. A bi-directional, or net meter keeps track of all the electricity your system contributes to the grid, as well as the electricity your home uses from the grid. When your home solar system produces more electricity than your home is using, your net meter will let your utility company know to give you credits for that. At night, and on days when your home uses more electricity than your system is producing, you'll use up those credits and draw electricity from the grid.

Alternating Current vs Direct Current


Electricity flows in two ways; either in alternating current (AC) or in direct current (DC). Electricity or 'current' is nothing more than moving electrons along a conductor, like a wire, that have been harnessed for energy. Therefore, the difference between AC and DC has to do with the direction in which the electrons flow. In DC, the electrons flow steadily in a single direction, or "forward." In AC, electrons keep switching directions, sometimes going "forwards" and then going "backwards."


Amount of energy that can be carried: Safe to transfer over longer city distances and can provide more power. Voltage of DC cannot travel very far until it begins to lose energy.
Cause of the direction of flow of electrons: Rotating magnet along the wire. Steady magnetism along the wire.
Frequency: The frequency of alternating current is 50Hz or 60Hz depending upon the country. The frequency of direct current is zero.
Direction: It reverses its direction while flowing in a circuit. It flows in one direction in the circuit.
Current: It is the current of magnitude varying with time It is the current of constant magnitude.
Flow of Electrons: Electrons keep switching directions - forward and backward. Electrons move steadily in one direction or 'forward'.

How Does An LED Television Work?

LED televisions are relatively new entertainment devices that utilize a series of light emitting diodes for TV back-lighting. While many take the technology for granted, check out these helpful points for understanding how these modern technological devices work.

LED versus cathode ray tubes
All televisions work through back-lit projection from a light source and onto the display screen. Older televisions use standard cathode ray tubes that are set in the rear of the television and project light onto the screen, while LED televisions replace the tube with small light emitting diodes to present light. LEDs are much smaller than cathode ray tubes, allowing for lighter and thinner televisions to be constructed. LEDs are more practical light sources that permit better projection of darker colors than old CRT television sets. There are two types of LED televisions currently produced: Edge and RGB.
