📢 Training Workshop Highlights | Business Management for Young Architects & Town Planners
🗓 Saturday, December 12, 2025

The Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) successfully conducted a one-day professional training workshop titled “Business Management for Young Architects and Town Planners”, held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by opening remarks from Ar. Ejaz Ahmad Qadri, Chairman PCATP, who highlighted the critical need to strengthen business, management, and regulatory understanding alongside core architectural and planning practice.

This highly successful session marked the first module of a structured capacity-building series, with future workshops already planned. The next session is scheduled for March 2026. Although registrations were limited to professionals aged 35 years and under, the response was overwhelming—clearly reflecting strong demand for focused professional development within the community.

The workshop was conducted in hybrid mode, with 50% in-person and 50% online (Zoom) participation, ensuring accessibility and nationwide reach. Participants joined from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Quetta, Mardan, and Chitral, along with overseas participation from KSA, underscoring the initiative’s national and international impact.

🔍 Key Focus Areas Included:
✔️ Setting up professional practice in Pakistan (PCATP, SECP, FBR compliance)
✔️ Regulatory and taxation essentials
✔️ Business development and growth strategies
✔️ Project and risk management
✔️ Practical guidance on Do-It-Yourself vs. Outsourcing

🎤 The workshop was facilitated by Tashfeen Riaz, Founding President, American Institute of Management Certifications (AIMC) Pakistan Chapter, an internationally experienced management trainer and consultant, and a graduate of PMI’s Leadership Institute Masters Class. His sessions were highly structured, practice-oriented, and interactive, supported by real-world case studies.

📜 Certificates were awarded during the closing ceremony by Ar. Ejaz Ahmad Qadri, Chairman PCATP, along with Ar. Tahir Saeed, Executive Committee Member (KPK), Peshawar.

🗣️ One-on-one post-training feedback interviews were conducted by multiple members, generating valuable insights for refining and strengthening future sessions.

The workshop concluded with a strong reaffirmation of PCATP’s commitment to sustained professional development and capacity-building initiatives for young architects and town planners across Pakistan.

Today, PCATP signed an MOU with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

This collaboration marks a clear step toward securing the profession through transparent, technology-driven governance. Its most significant impact is the securing of architects’ stamps — restoring a major share of professional work to qualified architects and delivering a decisive blow to quackery. The initiative also enables PCATP’s transition into the digital era, paving the way for ERM & CRM platforms, single-click online payments, CBD points management, individual member logins, and streamlined regulatory and financial processes.

The signing ceremony was held at Arfa Karim IT Park, Lahore. PCATP was represented by Ar. Ejaz Ahmad Qadri, Chairman PCATP, Ar. Hassan Jamil Ch., Member EC Punjab, Ar. Dr. Zeeshan Ashraf, Member EC (Floating), and Ar. Faisal Sami, Chairman IAP Lahore Chapter. PITB representatives included Mr. Ata-ur-Rehman, Director Development & Procurement (D&P), Ms. Nadia Riaz, CFO, Mr. Syed Ijlal Hussain, Joint Director, and Mr. Syed Irfan Tahir, Senior Program Manager (SPM).

A decisive move toward accountability, professional integrity, and a future-ready PCATP.
