°~Blackberries°~

Blackberries are often considered one of the easiest fruits to grow at home. They are a native species to the United States and grow as a small shrub or trailing vine. The fruit from this plant can be used for table fruit, syrup, jams and jelly.
Most of our blackberries are summer bearing, which carry one crop of berries on the over-wintering canes during the summer months. Plants begin fruiting in mid summer, and the season lasts approximately 3 - 4 weeks. The berries will have best flavor by allowing them to fully ripen.

° Poinsettia °

Native to Mexico, poinsettias are in the Euphorbia family and are a popular holiday plant because of their colorful bracts (leaves). There is also a species that is used as a cut flower. They are most commonly used for decorating during the winter holidays, but are also attractive as green plants throughout the year.
Poinsettias change color in response to shorter winter days. Poinsettia flowers are actually made up of the bracts, which look like petals, and the tiny yellow flowers in the center, called cyathia. The colorful bracts attract insects to the flowers and will drop after pollination.

Galphimia Glauca is a small evergreen shrub found in the tropical areas of Mexico and Central America.

Galphimia Glauca is a member of the Malpighia family and is commonly called Thryallis or Rain of Gold.

In a full sun setting, Flor Estrella is covered with fragrant sweet-scented yellow flowers from early in the springtime until the first frost.
Lack of sun can cause sparse flowering.

The yellow flowers are attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and other pollinators.

People take Galphimia glauca by mouth for hayfever caused by ragweed, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), asthma, bloody diarrhea, fever, and seizures. It is very commonly used in folk medicine for a wide variety of ailments, including depression and anxiety.

Features apricot to salmon pink flowers in terminal racemes. Yellow and red flowered forms are also available. Blooms throughout the year (everblooming). Ovate to lanceolate shiny dark green leaves
It is an erect, evergreen subshrub growing to 1 m with glossy, wavy-margined leaves and fan-shaped flowers, which may appear at any time throughout the year. It is usually grown in containers but can be attractive in beds as well. The flowers have no perfume but stay fresh for several days on the bush. A well-tended specimen will bloom continuously for years. The tiny flowers are often strung together into strands, sometimes along with white jasmine flowers and therefore in great demand for making garlands which are offered to temple deities or used to embellish women's hair.

Tangrine Beauty Crossvine
Tangerine Beauty Crossvine is a native perennial vine usually found in East Texas in forested areas and various places in West Texas. Its tendrils grow claws at the tips which makes this woody vine climb well. Watch this crossvine cling to fences and walls without any help!
Tangerine Beauty Crossvine is a semi-evergreen plant. Its leaves are usually 4-6 inches long and 2 inches wide. Although their foliage in the summer thrives to a glossy, dark green color, they can fluctuate to a more reddish color after frost. In areas with mild winters, the vine will keep its leaves and will be ready to continue growing and flower when warmer weather arrives. This is a good characteristic for a vine which is planted to cover arbors and provide shade quickly. This is a relatively low maintenance plant, requiring only occasional pruning to remove unwanted growth. This vine is attractive to pollinators.
Tangerine Beauty Crossvine can grow up to 50 feet long, perfect to cover a fence, sturdy trellis or arbor! It does grow quite vigorously, but it doesn’t sneak onto your entire landscape and try to take over the neighborhood like its relative, the Trumpet Vine. This colorful beauty does best in full sun, but can tolerate partial shade, although there will be fewer flowers. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but is able to survive standing water for short periods of time. It thrives in many different soil conditions, preferring a near-neutral pH.
