Estancia Celestial was conceived as a place where memory remains alive through light, silence, and architecture. ✨

Every space was designed to accompany moments of reflection, connection, and eternal love, creating an intimate and serene experience for those visiting their loved ones.

Integrated lighting subtly guides visitors through each space, transforming remembrance into a journey filled with meaning, peace, and contemplation.

Because some memories never stop illuminating our lives.

A faculty workspace should do more than provide desks and offices — it should support focus, collaboration, mentorship, reflection, and human connection. ✨

Our conceptual proposal for the Albizu University Faculty Workspace reimagines the academic environment through wellness-driven design, flexible work zones, warm materiality, and spaces intentionally created to foster dialogue, research, and meaningful interaction.

From collaborative areas and ideation walls to private communication spaces and informal pause zones, every design decision was centered around the people who use the space every day.

Because thoughtful environments have the power to shape not only productivity, but wellbeing, creativity, and community.

A library is more than a room filled with books — it is where imagination, creativity, and future possibilities begin. ✨📚

Our vision for the Elementary School Library in Vega Alta transforms learning into an experience through vibrant colors, playful forms, natural light, and flexible spaces designed for students from pre-K through 6th grade.

Every curve, reading nook, and gathering space was intentionally created to inspire curiosity, exploration, collaboration, and a lifelong love for learning. Because architecture has the power to shape not only spaces, but futures.

This project also carries a deeper story of community and legacy. Named in honor of Ignacio Miranda — Lin-Manuel Miranda’s great-grandfather — the library reflects a passion for giving back to the children of Vega Alta through spaces that inspire growth, opportunity, and imagination for all who visit.

Developed in collaboration with Camera Mundi, Inc., the project celebrates the power of design, storytelling, and community-centered architecture to create meaningful educational experiences for future generations.

In 2013, JFCR Architects participated in the international competition for the reconstruction of the Notre Dame D’La Assomption Cathedral in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

The proposal envisioned the cathedral as a spiritual and civic landmark rooted in light, memory, resilience, and community. Organized around the Main Temple and Bell Tower, the project explored the relationship between sacred space, urban life, and collective healing following the 2010 earthquake.

Through exposed concrete, natural ventilation, filtered light, memorial spaces, and locally integrated liturgical art, the design sought to create an architecture deeply connected to Haiti’s climate, culture, and people.

More than a reconstruction, the project was conceived as a symbol of remembrance, hope, and renewal.

Designed in 2006, this beachfront residence was conceived as a modern tropical retreat — blending clean architectural lines, natural textures, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.

From the illuminated stone walls to the open terraces overlooking the ocean, every space was designed to capture light, breeze, and the experience of living by the water.

Nearly two decades later, the design still feels contemporary — proving that timeless architecture is never driven by trends, but by vision. 🌊✨

Every transformation begins with understanding what already exists. ✨

These images show the rendered SketchUp model depicting the existing condition of the home when we first received the call from the client back in 2011. Before any redesign concepts were explored, we carefully documented and visualized the residence as it stood — capturing its character, proportions, and potential.

This stage is an essential part of our process: studying the existing architecture in order to imagine what it can become.

Looking back at these original models reminds us how every project starts with a vision, long before the transformation begins.

A design first imagined in 2011 — reimagined for today. ✨

This home has always carried the essence of its original vision, but architecture evolves, and so do we. Revisiting this project gave us the opportunity to refine every detail, elevate the atmosphere, and bring new life to the renderings through a more contemporary lens.

At JFCR Architects, we believe great design is never static. We are constantly redefining, reinventing, and pushing ourselves to create spaces that feel timeless yet fresh.

Because architecture is not only about buildings — it’s about growth, evolution, and the dreams we continue to shape along the way.

Check out our next post for the original rendered condition of the house.
