The interiors of Casa Arieiro are shaped by a restrained material palette of exposed concrete, locally sourced basalt stone, and bamboo timber. Natural light enters through large openings and a continuous skylight, creating changing patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. Warm, tactile materials soften the solidity of the structure, while maintaining a seamless connection between the interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

What we love about Casa Arieiro Project:
- The way the house is split into two clear volumes following the steep slope
- Living spaces fully opening towards the south-facing terrace and Atlantic views
- A skylight that runs through the circulation spine bringing natural light deep inside
- The use of exposed concrete as the main structural base, giving calm and strength to the architecture
- Locally sourced basalt stone that connects the house to Madeira’s landscape
- Bamboo wood used across interiors to soften the overall material palette

Villa BM was built around our client’s lifestyle, their rhythm and routines. Two intersecting volumes wrapped in bamboo wood, opening the house towards Funchal and the Atlantic, with a double-height living space at the center that connects kitchen, dining and garden in one continuous flow, while the upper level stays more private with an office and master suite oriented to the view.
