The history of bathing and these waterproof spaces within our homes is fascinating. Across different cultures, or even in small countries like Portugal, the evolution of these rooms varied by region and social class. We aim to understand each culture and draw inspiration from the details of its evolution.

Travelling beyond our comfort zones opens our eyes to the new, an awareness we must use to our advantage. We inherit centuries of culture, and it is essential to understand and honour this legacy. Who would have thought that Charles Rennie Mackintosh would find his way into a more traditional interior? His concept of “Total Design” (Gesamtkunstwerk) brought together architecture, furniture, materials, light and atmosphere, and was also rooted in the coexistence of opposites — Japanese influence meeting local tradition, geometric rigour alongside immersive and emotional atmospheres.
Perhaps this was precisely what Mackintosh was looking for.
Or simply not to match, and let beauty happen.

When we leave a completed project, the colours are still vivid, the plants are still growing, and life is just beginning. We know — and have envisioned from the very beginning — that this life will shape the experiences that unfold there; that the colours and plants will be embraced by those who inhabit the space and make it a happier place.

That is what we work towards every day.
