The semi-underground level is designed to house all the challenging programmatic capacity of the auditoriums and major technical areas. The collective auditorium spaces intend to have an intense public quality, so their interior circulation is enhanced as an internal avenue which, in turn, allows direct access to the University Campus and the surrounding city, allowing the Campus to expand its public reach.

Apartment in Olivais, 2026

A renovation of a small modernist apartment in Olivais Norte, Lisbon, thoroughly guided by a careful reading of the original project by architect João Vasconcelos Esteves. Working within the existing structure and preserving many of the apartment’s defining features, the intervention seeks to improve spatial continuity, natural light, and everyday flexibility.
Subtle interventions focused mainly on the connection between the living room, kitchen, and adjacent room, merged through custom oak carpentry and the reuse of existing materials, intend to create a more open and adaptable living environment while maintaining the character and logic of the original modernist design.

House in Serra D’Aire, 2026

The proposal was conceived to create a small nature-based tourism development - a communal space, a separate studio, and four guest rooms. Architecture acts as a mediator between the visitor and the landscape, a place where contemporary comfort and the identity of the site coexist without compromise.

The project does not seek to impose a new form. Instead, it reorganizes, clarifies, and amplifies what was already latent in the existing layout - an L-shaped building that respects the boundaries of the Natural Park, reinforcing the relationship with solar orientation and the expansive views to the south. At the junction of the two wings, a large, sheltered porch becomes the heart of the complex: a space for gathering, dining, and reading the horizon.

The pool, carved into the rocky terrain and aligned with the topography, extends this connection to the land. It offers an unobstructed gaze toward the mountain - a quiet continuity between architecture and place.

The proposal seeks to embrace the two buildings, weaving the existing threads of their structure into a tapestry of modern living. With the original slab absent on the second floor, a new wooden form rises, crafting a mezzanine that whispers of elevation. This wooden heart cradles the staircase, also of wood, leading upwards, while the stairwell itself becomes a quiet haven for storage, nurturing the kitchen and tending to the home’s needs. This mezzanine breathes life into the compact abode, unfurling its arms to offer a sense of space and comfort.

Quinta do Pereiro is a project aimed at revitalizing a site by drawing on the most basic elements provided by its surroundings.
The stone pool and the existing structure serve as the narrative’s main drivers. Through a meticulous intervention, two bedrooms and a shared living room have been incorporated, with the option of accessing these spaces individually from the outside, thereby making them independent as well.
The strategy is clear—by punctuating the façade with openings of similar dimensions, a rhythm is created, and its climax is found in the stone pool. Around these elements, life on this farm unfolds in all its fullness.
The renovation aims to be a clear response to the context, without neglecting contemporary comfort standards. The shutters and the carpentries, intentionally green, intend to give the building a camouflaged appearance within nature, lending it lightness and harmony with its surroundings.

Located on a corner plot to fill an urban void. The building intedns to allow open circulation and community spaces, with a strong connection to the public space. The main entrance is located at the corner, connecting to the community galleries that provide access to the residences and the courtyard. The social spaces are found in the left wing, ranging from the reception area to the multipurpose space, which engages openly with the city. It is also at the entrance that the open space fully connects with the courtyard, contributing to a sense of continuity with the city at street level.

Competition, Cell B Market in Olivais, 2024

The layout of the new building responds to the existing structure, extending its galleries and allowing this urban gesture to be completed without compromising the important connection between the two plazas. The public may enter through any of the three entrances, but the West and North entrances are intended to connect the building most closely with residential and pedestrian life, making the South entrance the most utilitarian and most frequently used by merchants, offering easy access to the loading and unloading area.

The building’s design is intended to shield it from the heavy traffic on Avenida Cidade de Lourenço Marques, consequently, all enclosed spaces and areas requiring technical access are located on the building’s eastern side, acting as a natural barrier to the avenue and making the market completely open to the adjacent plazas.

House in Arraiolos, 2022

The intention is to unite two houses in a small village on the outskirts of Arraiolos. It becomes evident that the main purpose of the intervention will be to preserve the memory and identity of both houses, drawing new programmatic and functional spaces.

The house has two living spaces, two chimneys, two access stairs to the patio, two architectural identities whose intervention intends to take advantage of and turn into a single organism.
Upon entering the house, we find one of the actions of the proposal that had more impact in all spaces, the opening and use of the true height of the building, referring to the traditional architecture of Alentejo.

The social space of the house is designed by the simple demolition of the wall that once separated both houses, a key moment of union between the pre-existences that traces one of the most essential spaces of the house, the living and dining room, spaces that live fundamentally from the visual relationship with the patio.
