A space shaped by time rather than trends.

An 18th-century Lisbon apartment restored with balance and intention.

CH Apartment - Lisbon

In an 18th-century Lisbon apartment, all the traditional and characteristic elements of Pombaline architecture, which had been destroyed, were restored. The wooden floors, the wooden ceilings, the blue and white tiles, as well as the original proportions of these spaces, were recreated in a way that respects the historical character and past of this space, but mixed with some classic and modern elements that contrast with the past and give a touch of modernity, where balance is the ultimate goal, which is already a hallmark of Studio AVA.

The clients, collectors of Asian art, requested a space that would integrate Portuguese elements with their collection.

The living room is the perfect example of this integration, with the typically Portuguese ceiling, floor, and proportions defining the space where the collection is displayed.
