Build and Grow - On the road to the sustainability with youth.

a transition area between biological communities, where communities meet and integrate.

perfect illustration of the immense learning and absorbing that happened in Guadeloupe.

Focusing mainly on the subject of permaculture we dwelled an island pulsating on biodiversity. We had the pleasure of learning both from local experts - visiting creole gardens and surfacing the ancestral knowledge of local plants - and also from each others, sketching and participating in workshops around never ending pertinent topics.

We mingled and dived and discussed and danced on the overwhelming Gwada nature and culture as if we were birds in transition.

Training Course “Build and Grow: On the road to sustainability with youth”

João from our studio participated on a ecobuilding and permaculture training with people from France, Guadeloupe, Romenia, Austria and Greece.

The organizers and trainers provided a well structured foundation course on h**p lime construction, woodwork, dry toilet, basic permaculture principles.

We visited the Ecocentre of Perigord to lean even more on insulation, ecomaterials and sustainable construction techniques.

The team spirit growed each day and everybody was helpful to achieve de purpose of the training course.

Em 2017 recebemos um telefonema do The Hotel acerca de um sonho da CRESCER.

começámos com um projeto que ainda era um sonho, ou vice-versa.

sonhámos que conseguíamos materializar esse sonho com a dimensão e criatividade que se exigia.

acabámos em 2019 com as mãos no lápis, no ferro, no cimento, nas madeiras.

fundimos finalmente os conceitos de arquiteto e artesão imbuídos do espírito do William Morris.

diluímos a importância das paredes e fizemos da mobília uma peça chave.

acabámos a transformar o esboço em músculo e a construir o espaço, as cadeiras, as mesas, a luz.

e demos lugar ao que realmente interessa.

A CRESCER – Associação de Intervenção Comunitária abriu um restaurante em Lisboa. Mais do que isso, começou um projecto-piloto de reinserção social para pessoas
