THE POLISOLV-X COMPONENT
• storage conditions: protected from sunlight at a maximum temperature of 30 ̊C, in an airtight container. THE RAP
• RAP (recycled asphalt pavement) moisture: max. 2%.
• RAP temperature max. 50 ̊C.
• granulation between 0 -16 to 20 mm, depending on the desired destination.
• sifted or crushed.
MIXING THE RAP WITH POLISOLV-X
The mixing, depending on the desired quantity, can be performed manually, in a concrete mixer or in any industrial equipment used for mixing construction materials.
• the mixing process is performed away from rain.
• before adding, shake/mix the additive in the container.
• mixing is done without preheating the RAP or the Polisolv-X® additive.
• the percentage of mixture is 2.4% additive added to the amount of RAP.
• the mixing takes about 3-4 minutes to get the complete coating of all the particles.
STORAGE, PACKING OR TRANSPORTING THE OBTAINED COLD ASPHALT
• it is ready for immediate use or packaging for transport, sale or later use.
• the asphalt will be hardened immediately after compacting and getting in contact with the oxygen.
• for appropriate storage, pack in airtight bags (e.g. airtight plastic bag) or container, then seal, in order to
avoid hardening of cold asphalt.
COLD ASPHALT OBTAINED WITH POLISOLV-X IS AN ACCESSIBLE COLD ASPHALT, WITH QUALITIES CLOSE TO THOSE OF HOT ASPHALT AND MEETS THE APPLICABILITY CRITERIA IN
• road repairs technical class I-V and streets of technical class II-IV.
• cobbled, poorly paved roads, rural, forest and well roads.
• running tracks, parking areas, parks, recreational spaces.
• paved alleys in private space, courtyards, paths, garages, parking lots.
APPLYING THE OBTAINED COLD ASPHALT APPLYING METHOD
• it is not conditioned by all the equipment used in hot asphalt paving.
• it can be executed at the manufacturing level or at the industrial level with conventional equipment:
manual compactor, vibrating compactor plate or compacting cylinder.
• applicable any season (summer, rainy or winter), even in the range of extreme temperatures
(from –30 ° C to + 50 ° C - soil temperature).
REPAIRS
• the preparation of the filling is done by vertical cutting of the layers, applying the excess cold asphalt. (it is recommended to fill 25% more than the volume of the pit) and start compacting the surface from the edge of the pit inwards.
• To repair pits with a depth of more than 4 cm (eg 8-10 cm) compacting is done in successive layers of 4 cm thickness.
• the asphalt will harden immediately after pressure from compacting and getting in contact with oxygen.
• after compacting the asphalt, the traffic can be reopened immediately.
SIDEWALK, PARKING AREAS OR DRIVEWAYS PAVING
• the asphalt is spread on a level of 2-4 cm thick.
• it is compacted with a manual compactor, vibrating compactor plate or compactor cylinder.
• immediately after compacting, the surface is ready for use.
ROAD SURFACES PAVING
• the cold asphalt is loaded into the applicator, which will spread the asphalt with a 4 cm thick layer.
• compact with the cylindrical compactor at least twice.
• the traffic opens immediately after the last compaction.
