A new destination is taking shape by the sea — with hotel rooms, restaurants, spa, terraces, pool areas and residences being developed side by side.

Ställ ut din konst i Ölandsbastun på Strand Öland 🎨✨

Vi söker konstnärer som vill vara en del av upplevelsen i vår unika Ölandsbastu – en plats där värme, natur och återhämtning möts.

Förutsättningar för utställningen:
• Konstnärer som bor och skapar på Öland
• Total utställningsyta: 1,50 × 1 meter
• Utställningsperiod: 1 månad
• Verken ska vara inramade
• Konsten behöver tåla temperaturer upp till 43°C på grund av bastuns IR-värme

What is your kind of terrace?

We believe it is the mood. The people. The music. The service. The light. The view. The feeling that this is a place you want to be part of.

Sometimes it is the lively bar where everyone wants a table. Sometimes it is the quiet corner in the evening sun. Sometimes it is the warm, easy place where friends, families and long conversations simply belong.

At W8, we never see a terrace as just tables and chairs outside. It is part of the concept. Part of the atmosphere. Part of what makes a hotel, restaurant or destination worth returning to.

A great outdoor space is never just outdoor space.

It can extend the guest experience, strengthen the concept and give the hotel a clearer identity. For us at W8, it starts with the feeling the place should carry — and the people it should attract.

When we design a spa at W8, we think far beyond the pool, the sauna and the treatment rooms.

It starts with the place. The atmosphere. The feeling you want your guests to carry with them after they leave.

A great spa should feel natural to move through, easy to stay in and worth returning to. The light, the materials, the privacy, the sound, the small details — everything needs to work together.

Because a spa should not only look beautiful.
It should make the whole destination more memorable.

Some projects stay with us.

Knarrholmen is one of them.

A place with history, salt air and industrial soul. And people behind it with a clear vision, strong ambition and genuine love for the island.

Our task was to translate that into an interior concept that felt just as honest as the place itself.

Raw, warm, tactile and inviting.

As Johan Kylfält at Restaurang Knarrholmen describes it:

”Inredningen blev helt otrolig. Lokalen speglar öns historia med industriell varvskänsla men ändå med värme som känns ända in i själen.”
