Uthuk Berserker A from Descent: Legends of the Dark.

What a fun mini to paint! I really enjoy combining Pallid Bone speedpaint with Buff acrylic to get the bone / horn colors. It's very satisfying!

I wanted to go a little faster since there's 3 more to paint but I ended up pushing the details a notch, and I'm happy with the result.

Family photo to come soon!

Galaden from Descent: Legends of the Dark.

This one took me the most time yet from all the miniatures I've painted. Funnily enough, I was not very happy with how it started due to the amount of browns, but drybrushing and adding the rest of the colors really helped.

It's of course not perfect, but I'm proud of what I managed to pull off, and I learnt a lot in the process!

This is now the 9th miniature I've completed :)

Chance from Descent: Legends of the Dark!

It was really fun to paint a very detailed character, and doing the mossy ruins and rocks was a lot of fun!

Kudos to .knights for the inspiration on video for this one.

Fourth and last character of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion finally done!

I saved the Demolitionist for last, since the miniature has a lot of details and is really small! It's also the character I play and I'm happy with the little finishing touches that ended up better than I expected.

Blog post to come later!

The next miniatures will continue to be from Descent: Legends of the Dark.

I have a little less time now but I'll get back to a good rhythm soon enough, can't wait to show more progress!

Here's the third character from Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. The Voidwarden.

As expected, this one proved to be more challenging... read on!

Here it is – the third character of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion – the Human Voidwarden. This one was, as expected, more complicated than the previous ones. I started off in the same wa…

Wolf A, B and C finished!

It was fun to experiment with multiple layers of gray, black and dark tone for the mane, and getting a nice skull color tone.

I drew some inspiration from , as he has amazing renditions of all Descent: Legends of the Dark figures, and much more!

Next in line will be a player character... but which?

Wolf A from Descent: Legends of the Dark finished!

I took more time to really try and apply some nice techniques I picked up while watching
excellent videos and I think it paid off!

I tried to highlight a couple more with acrylics for experimentation too.

Wolf B and C are next :)

Third character from Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion - Human Voidwarden.

This one was more challenging than the previous two, and I was really scared about doing the details on the robe. The brush I used turned out not to be the best for the job and the lines ended up a bit crude.

Overall, though, I'm pleased with the result of my painted miniature #3!

This was the moment I "accidentally" committed into the hobby and splurged a little bit!

Let me know if you think these were good choices, or what else would you recommend!

So, as I had hinted in the previous posted, I went (almost) all in. I certainly got a lot of things to get started with to have enough options. Here’s where it started: AP Speedpaint Most Wan…

Third painting session, another miniature. This time around I started with the Valrath Red Guard, from the roster of characters of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. I'm still relying on my friend's paints and counsel to keep going at this point. I used the same technique as before: black primer, followed by gray drybrushing and white spray zenithal highlight to have it go a little faster....

The Valrath Red Guard was the second miniature I've ever painted, and the second one from Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion!

In this one I was able to capture a few good work in progress pictures, and I really liked using brush-on glossy varnish for the armor and the metal elements.

I tried to apply a cool, purple effect to the tail but failed miserably. I learnt to take it slowly and apply more medium when needed! I'm still happy with the result!

Hatchet was my first miniature painted, ever!

It took two painting sessions and about 8h to finish it, and I was quite happy with the result :)

I wanted to start directly by painting one of the miniatures from Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. Hatchet and the Red Guard seemed the easiest to start with, so I picked the first one. I started by f…
